Website Conversion: Are You Missing the Mark?

 In Make Money Online

conversionWhen it comes to maintaining a website, there are multiple factors that you have to take into consideration. How well your website converts visitors into sales or leads is critical to your success over the long-term. If your website isn’t converting as well as it should be, you might be missing out on many additional sales that you could otherwise have. Here are a few strategies that you can use to increase your website conversion rate.
Focus on the User
One of the big mistakes that many businesses make is trying to talk about themselves in the sales copy. They talk about how they are the best in the industry or something along those lines. If you really want to be successful and increase your conversion rate, it is important to focus on the user. Use words like “you” or “your.” Show them how it’s going to help them, because that’s all they really care about in the end. This will also keep them on your site longer since they are interested in reading about what you can do for them.

Make It Easy to Navigate

Another mistake that many web designers make is that they make their sites very difficult to navigate. For example, if you try to cram too much information into the page, it can really make it difficult for people to find what they are looking for. The same goes for having too much flash on your site or having too many steps to your conversion page. You want to make the steps that you want the visitor to take crystal clear.

Don’t Waste the User’s Time

When you read the content of your website, does it seem like you provide too much information? Cut the information that you share down to the bare essentials. Studies show that most users skim information they find on the web. If you take the time to eliminate unnecessary information from your webpages, it will help your users focus on what they really need to know about your company: what you can offer them, and for how much. Use bullet points, bold fonts, different colors, and other tools to get their attention. Highlight the positive aspects of your product or service. This is also called drawing attention to your call to action.

Offer Different Payment Options

If you want your website to be able to sell products or services, you need to make sure that you make it easy for your customers to buy. For instance, if you only offer one type of payment such as credit card, you’d be eliminating the potential clients who would be willing to buy using PayPal. If you offer multiple payment options, you’ll be able to get more people to commit to buying. Make the “Buy Now” button or whatever your version of that is, very easy to find (again, drawing attention to the call to action).

Regardless of the techniques that you use for your website, make sure to keep things simple. Overall, you want your user to be able to find things they want and navigate easily and efficiently.
