Introduction to PPC – Terms and Basic Requirements

PPC or pay per click is a relatively recent way to advertise your product or business on the internet. Here is how it works – you pay a website (a blog, search engine etc.) and they advertise your web site on their web site. But the best part is that you pay the host only when someone actually clicks on your ad and is routed to your website, hence the name pay per click.

There are two ways of deciding the cost per click: flat-rate model or bid-based model. In the flat-rate model, the publisher has a fixed rate for advertising on his site. The rates usually depend on the number of people visiting the specific section where the ad has to be put up. For example if a certain section of the web site gets more visitors and the ads posted there are expected to get more valuable clicks, then the price goes up accordingly. This is usually negotiable. Content websites and comparison shopping websites usually use the flat rate model for pay per click ad hosting.

The bid-based system is usually employed by search engines. In this model advertisers bid and the highest bidder gets the highest position is the sponsored search results section. This example should make it clear. Assuming you own a sports goods shop in a city X and have a web site about the same. You advertise it on Google and are the highest bidder. So if a person searches for ‘sports good in X city’ or something similar, then a link to your web site along with a small description appears under the sponsored link section and is on the first position. Thereby increasing your chances of substantial visits.

Search engines are the most common and popular way to start a pay per click campaign. The first thing to consider is your budget and also the risk factor involved. The best option is to choose a large and popular search engine as they tend to be less risky and also offer better customer service. But then larger search engines are a bit expensive compared to smaller ones. And you should also be careful of some engines which offer money to people to click on the ads. This greatly hampers the quality of clicks your link gets and you end up paying for nothing. Make sure you thoroughly go through the details and understand how the pay per click search engine works. It’ll be worth the time and effort in the end.

Choosing the right keyword for your campaign is another important aspect of your ad campaign. Keyword phrase simply is the crux of your product, business or service. This is what the search engines use to match the search queries of the user and display the ads accordingly. There are many tools available which can help you choose the keyword for your service or you may even do it manually. Getting the keyword phrase right can greatly enhance the traffic on your website. Google, MSN, Bidvertizer and Yahoo are some of the more popular PPC search engines.

Make sure you thoroughly go through the details and understand how the pay per click search engine works. It’ll be worth the time and effort in the end.

Search Engine Marketing Software Review

Even if two years ago the number of search engine marketing software programs was at least twice smaller than it is now, the growth in product variety seems unstoppable. In order to understand this diversity in the real context of the marketer’s needs, we should refer to the essential factors that preserve the functionality of search engine marketing in the first place: advertising, keyword optimization, quality informative content, traffic and web page ranking. These factors in fact correspond to the different tasks that become available for management with any regular search engine marketing software. How can such a program improve business efficiency?

Visibility results from the choice of the right keywords, because Internet surfers use keywords in their product or service searches. Those phrases that best describe your domain of activity will get most visits. It is not at all easy to find and select keywords manually, yet, a search engine marketing software can identify keyword relevance, performance and potential in a shorter time and with minimum of effort.

Therefore, the search engine marketing software can make your business a lot more productive in terms of accomplishments and work-flow prioritizing. Needless to say that the decision for the keywords belongs to the manager, but the software can help you refine your choices and make the most profitable of selections possible. All advertisers insist on keywords selection because it makes the central working principle of pay per click advertising models. Traffic depends on keywords and implicitly profit. Moreover, from time to time, the keywords have to be renewed in order to insure an increasing traffic level.

Without the use of a search engine marketing software, the entire keyword search would be a total nightmare. Plus, you would not be able to conduct profitable advertising campaigns and the result would be money loss by incorrect bidding. Statistical features further support the monitoring functions of business performance, which adds a big plus to online marketing. In the absence of a statistical monitoring chart, it would be impossible to tell which keywords are inactive and why. A search engine marketing software therefore improves and makes business management possible in optimal conditions and with good profit.

Website Content and SEO

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - JANUARY 31: (FILE PHOTO) ...

If you already have a website and just want to optimise it for the keywords on your website pages content. So you want to check in search engine first. Type in the search box your main keywords and see which keywords you are ranking for already. Then you’ll need to optimize the website pages content for those keywords so you move higher up the search engine rankings.

If you want to use more keywords in your website content, or you haven’t a website yet. Then the first step to take is to start with keyword research. You might be amazed at how many different keywords people type into the search engines search box while trying to find the same thing.

Google Adword keyword tool will show you a lot of different keywords people are typing into Google search box
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal And you can use services like http://www.WordTracker.com as well .

In order to gather the keywords your content will be based on, Start by thinking about what your prospect will be looking for, What kind of keywords the prospects will type in the search box.

You have to make your website as attractive to Google as possible. But there’s actually two kinds of search engine optimisation to think about.

On website page and off website page.

On website page or off website refers to the elements of your webpage that tells Google what keywords to index your page under. The off page website or off page optimization, refers to the number, quality and the nature of the links that are pointing back to your pages.

If we look at each of these in a little more detail, the primary element for onsite or on page optimisation would be your tags. The HTML title tags, the description tag , the keywords tag, the image ALT tags, the image filenames and the textual content. But the most important is the title tag. If you don’t get anything else perfect, get that title tag right. Its going to synchronize up with your off site efforts and create some really nice results for you.

The title tag is important because it’s the label of your page. That is the first thing that tells the search engine and the people what your page is about. When your page appears in the search engine, the highlight of it is what’s in your title tags. That’s what people are going to see. So that’s absolutely the first thing that you have to write on the page.

The first thing I would focus on is the title tag. You want to get your keyword or keyword phrase in there. You also want to work on your description tag. You want it to be on your page once or twice. You want it in your header title, in your headline, and you want the keyword and some links coming in from other websites or other websites inner pages to your own website inner pages caring your title keywords.

Website Navigation Links.

You want to use your keywords or a keyword phrase within your link from page to page in the navigation bar to point to the inner pages of your website.  You need to think that the navigation links are also part of optimizing your website. So instead of a navigation link that says “home page”, it should use one of your keywords related to the inner page that the link will point to, and yes all of that makes the difference in the search engine eyes! Why would you link back to your “home page” using the keyword home page? All you’re doing by linking that way is telling the search engine that your “home page” is about home page, which it isn’t. So instead of having the keyword “home page” in your link back to your home page, put your keywords in there.

Developing your website content.

The first thing to note is that search engines are getting a little bit smarter. They are always improving their algorithms. One of the things they are getting smarter about is homing in on the pages that are truly helpful for people.
If you are searching for a page about SEO, Google wants to find the best page about SEO for you. They want to serve up the page that gives the human searcher the best information about SEO topic. Search engine provide a service. They want people to come to and get good results out of their searches, and the only way to get good out of it, is to find pages that are actually helpful.

So when people ask me, how do we write copy that is good for humans and good for search engines? My answer would be to focus on the first part first – your website Tags and write your website content good for people. It’s got to communicate your message both to people and the search engine.

Copywriting.

When people talk about copywriting, they often talk about sales pages. Most people who create those pages aren’t really focused on SEO at all. They are getting traffic to those pages from other sources besides search engines and that is why you can see trafficked sale pages with high Alexa rank but without search engine rank, So when I am talking about website content I am talking about it in SEO terms.

So you have a website about SEO and on your home page you talk a little bit about SEO. You have a page with a different aspects of SEO. Remember that the first rule is to make the page helpful to people and then you want to do what you might call search engine friendly.

You want to use your keyword into the website content or just go back and make sure your keywords are in your content in ways that will make the search engines really like your page.

I’ve mentioned ALT tag in the image tag earlier. That’s  website content too. But getting back to the actual stuff that the human being can read on the page. Start with the title tags that show up in the title bar of your browser. Make sure your keywords are in it. On your page, you will have a headline or two. You’re going to have H1 tags, H2 tags, H3 tags, anything with an H in it -  place your keywords in there. Then you want to make sure your keywords are in the actual content on the page, and you want to have a healthy amount of content on the page with your keywords in it in a natural way.

Early and often.

So if you’re trying to write human readable content, how do you do that? Well it’s pretty easy, actually. Start by talking about your topic and use your keywords early and often in your copy in a reading natural way. That is the rule of thumb.
Something else to mention that is becoming relevant to search engines is related keywords. Using words in your content that is related to your keywords, but not exactly your keywords and in order to do that you can use synonyms relates to your keywords.

So don’t just think, well, my keyword is SEO. I’ll include most instances of SEO on my page. That’s not going to do it. Include SEO a few times, But think of it as a healthy number and also include related SEO concepts in your content that search engines will like.

So how many keywords will we be focusing on in one website page?
Well there isn’t a fix number to focus on. If you try to focus on more than 3 to 6 keywords, you’re going to find yourself getting distracted with the content. If you try to target 20 keywords on your page, that’s going to be tough to come up with any healthy content that anybody wants to read. So, it’s better focus on 1 to 3 keywords per page content. If you do that, you are going to keep your mindset correct when it comes to writing good copy and the search engines are going to like it and your keyword density rate will probably be right.

As a matter of fact. I don’t think about keywords when I write website content most of the time. If somebody tells me “I want this to be keyword rich.”, I’ll say “alright, fine”. I’ll write some content that people would like to read and then go back and SEO the content. Typically, what I end up doing is, I’ll write something, It will be what I want to say, the way I want to say it, and then if I’ll realize I’m not really targeting the keyword so well, I’ll go back and change it, what I end up doing, is coming up with the keyword version that uses related keywords synonyms for something else I wanted to say, And I always want to have good language that uses my keyword in a very natural way. So I would say there are no real formulas. As a matter of fact, if you use a formula it’s probably going to distract you from what you need to be focused on, which is good content.

First and foremost, focus on content so that it’s actually human friendly. And secondly, consider the search engine robots.
Remember I mentioned, search engines are getting smarter and they are looking for more contextual stuff. It’s called Latent Symantec Indexing or LSI. It’s going to become more prevalent over time. So you want to have good content first. It’s not a technical thing, its a contextual thing. And having good content is going to win, because search engine really wants to point people to the best relevant content.

Finding Good Information.

If you think about it, there are billions of pages now on the web. Its not a problem finding information, its a problem finding good information. If you provide good information, better information than other websites, Search engines are going to favour your website content.

What’s SEO? Detailed SEO Traffic Videos

What is SEO?

seo If you’ve spent time online recently, you’ve probably read the term "SEO", or Search Engine Optimization. But what does it mean, exactly?

SEO is a term that is used to describe the process by which traffic to a particular site is increasingly generated by search engines by way of search results. The quality of visitor traffic to a website can be measured by analyzing how often a visitor who uses a specific keyword phrase in a search actually performs what is known as a conversion action. That is, how often those visitors make a purchase, download materials, request information, or interact with the site in any other way that indicates interest in the product or service the site offers.

SEO is the active practice of optimizing a web site by improving internal and external aspects in order to increase the traffic the site receives from search engines. SEO experts can vary, some have a highly specialized focus, while others take a more broad and general approach.

Optimizing a web site for search engines can require looking at so many unique elements that many practitioners of SEO consider themselves to be in the broad field of website optimization (since so many of those elements intertwine). The majority of web traffic is driven by the major commercial search engines – Yahoo!, MSN, Google & AskJeeves.  If your site cannot be found by search engines or your content cannot be put into their databases, you miss out on the incredible opportunities available to websites provided via search – people who want what you have visiting your site. Whether your website provides content, services, products, or information, search engines are a primary method of navigation for almost all Internet users.

SEO is one of the most effective things you can do online, getting your web site optimized in such a way that the search engines will reward you by basically sending traffic your way. SEO is not really that simple, but the bottom line is, if your page is optimized both on page and off, you generally get higher natural search engine rankings, which leads to traffic for you.

Search Engine Optimization isn’t scary – quite the contrary, it’s fascinating!

You have heard the phrase LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. But wait, this is online! You don’t have to worry about location…or do you??!!

Location is everything! Let’s take a moment to really think about this. You need to find something. What do you do? Most people will go to their favourite search engine and input what they are searching for. Search Engines come back with the most relevant websites for your search. However, your search for a keyword can result in hundreds of links (if not thousands). So now you begin the task of clicking one by one on these links to find the information or service you need.

You may go through page one to find what you are searching for, you may go through all of page two, but did you get to the guy on page 10? who has that kind of time?

Then you have realized how important LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION is to your website. We need to get your site located on the first page. But with so much competition how do you achieve that? Search Engine Optimization is your answer!!

Everyone wants to be listed in the number 1 spot. But most websites do not even get listed under any of their keywords because they do not know how to implement search engine optimization (SEO). To understand how to do Search Engine Optimization you first need to understand..

how search engines work? 011_028 I know an seo expert who has helped take the mystery out of SEO for me. And I trust him. Because he uses fun to talk about SEO – what’s not to like!? I asked him the questions I have about SEO – and feel free to ask your questions in the comments. We’re all learners here!

Search Engine Optimization – the art, or if you prefer Science, of manipulating page structure, and content to afford the best opportunity for placement on the Search Engines. It’s an interesting game, ever changing ever evolving. Every time you think you might have it figured out, they change the algorithms and you find you know little or nothing! There are several basic concepts one can incorporate, that remain constant however, and those will net lasting results.

SEO can be applied to any website optimization strategy. When anyone logs on the Web, they are usually trying to find “something” either for a purchase, maybe directions to a location, research, images; it could be anything, however, you have to type in a phrase or keyword into the search query.

For SEO to be effective, a webmaster or online marketing specialist will analyze the site to see what changes need to be made in order to improve the visibility and page rank. Common changes will take place in the HTML coding of the page title, Meta description, Meta tags, and keywords section. Successful SEO strategies go well beyond these onsite techniques, however, the bottom line is results as measured in rankings for relevant keywords and onsite conversions. Marketers have realised that search engines are now one of the biggest referrals of related content and products. Getting a website on the first page of related searches can open a whole world of new opportunities and new business. Getting decent exposure on search engines is becoming an ever increasing challenge. The popular search queries are becoming more and more competitive each day. That’s where  Those SEO Videos comes in..
